Dj WayneInDisThang Receives Apology from DJ AONE for 2022 Verzuz Dispute
Two years ago, DJ AONE and DJ WayneInDisThang shared some words with each other after a Verzuz battle where AONE spun for Sammie and Pleasure P and WayneInDisThang spun for Ray J and Bobby V. The battle was heated throughout with a lot of trash talking and moments that soon after went viral– notably when it was Ray J’s turn to perform and he sang his hit single, One Wish. People were stunned at his voice and thought he didn’t do well, which lead to Sammie singing the song for him afterwards
During the Verzuz, WayneInDisThang had multiple back and forths with Sammie in which they both called each other out their names in the spirit of competition.
We spoke to Wayne about the Verzuz in our 2023 interview in which he explained why he kept going at them: “They kept trying to say, like, ‘who is you?’ and stuff like that and I was just like ‘who is you?’” Wayne IDT continued, “I’m just as big where I’m from. I might not be big in Atlanta or LA where y’all at, but you come to Oklahoma people know about me.”
After the Verzuz, DJ AONE and WayneInDisThang exchanged some more words that heated things up some more, but over two years later, the two DJs hashed things out on stage. AONE was in Oklahoma City for the Queens of R&B Tour with Xscape and SWV when he called DJ Wayne on stage, saying he wanted to give him his respect, love, and apologize to him in his own city.
