The Dedication mixtape series is one of the hottest mixtape runs of all time. Lil Wayne has a knack for taking other artist’s beats and making people forget that there was an original version, and DJ Drama has made a legendary name off of collaborative tapes with the best artists of all time. The two are a massive staple in the mixtape rap lane.

In 2006, Weezy and Drama linked up to drop Dedication 2: Gangsta Grillz, the second of what eventually became a six-tape series. Dedication had a star studded feature list including Juelz Santana, TI, Pharrell, Remy Ma, and more.

In his interview with Rap Radar Podcast, DJ Drama revealed that the mixtape will finally be released on all streaming platforms in 17 years later. “We are dropping Dedication 2 on streaming platforms this year,” said Drama at the 56:58 mark, “and it’s going to have some new music along with it.”

Lil Wayne has been working these past few years to get his mixtape music cleared and on streaming platforms— Sorry 4 The Wait and No Ceilings have both been added since 2020.
