Fire In Little Africa Takes Over Harvard University for Concert

Fire in Little Africa traveled to Cambridge, Massachusetts to showcase who they are to Harvard University’s students and faculty. Their time at Harvard included a documentary screening, a colloquium with Dr. View, and a live concert. This show featured many of the artists that appeared on the Fire In Little Africa album and a live band who came together to put on a soulful performance.

For those who don’t know, Fire In Little Africa is a project focused on the black history of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Those involved have heavy ties to the Tulsa community and continue to push the movement and voice the stories of Black Wall Street and Greenwood through music.

Dr. View shared a meaningful message via Instagram following FILA’s Harvard takeover:

Staying present is one of the hardest challenges for me. I’m always worried about what happened in the past or how i should prepare for the future. These past few days with @fireinlittleafrica at Harvard, have truly been a blessing… I witnessed so much Black joy, love and hope from Black Wall Street walking and mobbing through Harvard yard. I’m grateful to have shared my Nasir Jones Hip Hop Fellowship with family and friends.
