Boosie Won’t Clear Feature He Did for TooFat Troub, But It’s All Love

Boosie has been in the news recently after calling out artists like Rod Wave and Kodak Black for sampling his music without clearing things first. The “Set It Off” artist went on Instagram live and spoke on how he appreciates the homage, but since it’s a business, he needs money, too. And at the end of the day, he’s right.

During our Pass the Aux event in collaboration with Something Dope for the People, we asked several artists their thoughts on the above situation. One of those artists was TooFat Troub, who linked up with Boosie Badazz in early 2023 just a few months after being released from prison. The Lawton, OK native opened up for Boosie in concert and the two did a song together before Troub eventually signed to go on tour with the Baton Rouge rapper.

While speaking on the situation, TooFat Troub revealed that the song they did together was never cleared, which could be part of the reason why it didn’t make the cut for his latest album, Been Him. The song did, however, get uploaded to YouTube and can be streamed there.

“That clearing sh*t tricky, bro,” he said, “I got a song with Boosie that Boosie ain’t clear. And I did everything the right motherf***ing way and this n**** still ain’t clear my sh**.” It’s still all love on TooFat Troub’s end, though, as the rapper went on, “Shout out to my n****, Boosie. I f*** with Boosie. That n**** gave me an opportunity that n****s ain’t give me,” before adding on, “but he ain’t clear my motherf***ing song.”

There’s multiple reasons why a song doesn’t get cleared and Troub didn’t dive too much into any details, but it leaves room to wonder how the Rod Wave situation would’ve played out even if he did approach Boosie directly before releasing the song.
